$20 of every Forest Defender Tie Dye shirt will be donated to help those affected by the fires.
Washington and Oregon are battling major fires, the Eagle Creek Fire being the worst in the nation at this moment. The Columbia River Gorge and the Gifford Pinchot National Forest are a part of me, a major part of my story and my life. In their waters, I learned how to swim. Under the shade of their forests, my grandparent’s cabin was my second home. Upon one mountain top in their midst, my husband asked me to marry him. And I can’t think of much hiking or camping I’ve done that wasn’t in either the Gorge or the Gifford Pinchot.
And now, both are ablaze. The East Crater Fire and the Eagle Creek Fire have destroyed so much of this beautiful green landscape and threaten much more. I’m so thankful that the news this morning reports 7% containment for the Eagle Creek Fire, and that the East Crater Fire, along with the Bear Creek and Archer Mountain Fires, seem to be reporting decreased fire activity.
But the reality is there are fires completely changing our lives, our memories, and our neighbors’ futures.
This is why I came up with the Forest Defender Tie Dye Shirt. There are three different areas that can use financial support both now and in the following months: firefighters, evacuation centers, and restoration efforts for the future. I will be donating $20 of each Forest Defender Tie Dye Shirt to one of three organizations, depending on the date received and the greatest need at that time.
The Forest Defender features a beautiful and unique hand tie dyed forest scene and comes in every size from Newborn to Men’s 5XL. Baby sizes (Newborn to 18 month) come in a baby bodysuit style. All others come in a short sleeve Gildan tee shirt style.
